Director of Curriculum and Instruction K-12
Ms. Kristin P. O'Neil has lived in West Deptford for 26 years and currently resides in West Deptford Township with her husband, James, who is also a lifelong resident of West Deptford. They have three children, Cameron (age 4), Kyler (age 2), and Carter (age 2). Ms. O'Neil has been employed by West Deptford Township Schools as the Green-Fields Elementary School Principal and now serves as the K-12 Director of Curriculum and Instruction. She previously taught elementary and middle school grade levels, taught as an Adjunct Professor at Salem Community College in both the English and Social Sciences departments, and is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Teacher Preparation Program at Rutgers University. Ms. O'Neil earned her B.A. in Elementary Education and Sociology and her M.A. in Educational Leadership from Rowan University. She has currently completed all of the required coursework for her Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership and is expected to defend her dissertation during the 2010 - 2011 school year. In her current role, Ms. O'Neil is responsible for the development and implementation of all curriculum in grades K-12, providing professional development to the district teaching staff, the analysis of standardized testing data, and organizing the kindergarten registration process. Ms. O'Neil is an instructional coach (grades K-12), oversees the roles and responsibilities of the elementary Literacy Coaches, serves as the district Title I, ESL, NCLB, and the District Testing Coordinator. Ms. O'Neil's favorite part of her job is researching best teaching practices and bringing that research to the classroom.
