HSPA (High School Proficiency Assessment): The HSPA is the graduation test required by the State of New Jersey. It assesses and measures content area subset skills in both Language Arts Literacy and Mathematics. All students must pass the HSPA in 11th (or in 12th) grade in order to be eligible for a high school diploma.

                                      CURRENT AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) STATUS

HSPA PREP CLASS a pull-out program, designed to reinforce the necessary language arts and/or mathematics skills necessary to score proficiency on the HSPA test. Students are rotated in and out of the program on a four-week cycle and are pulled from a study hall, elective, or physical education class.

AHSA Alternative High School Assessment: an alternative assessment to the HSPA. If students do not score proficient on the HSPA, they may achieve proficiency for the State of New Jersey graduation requirements through the AHSA process.

BIOLOGY Assessments: The Biology Competency Test (BCT) will be given to students based upon their enrolled courses. The New Jersey Department of Education has deemed this test a graduation requirement for first-time ninth-graders in the 2010-2011 school year.

A two-day test administration, focusing on content knowledge learned in Biology. All students enrolled in a first year Biology course MUST take this assessment.
