Kristin Osgood teaches
Graphic Design and
Photography at
West Deptford High School. These classes are very
popular, as evidenced by her teaching overload for the past
number of years. Her students' work is regularly published
in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Four WDHS students currently
have their artwork traveling the state of New Jersey as a
part of the NJ Teen Arts Festival. Kristin also is the
advisor for
Graphics Club and
Photography Club and Gaming
Club.
After receiving a full merit scholarship, Kristin attended Moore College of Art & Design. She then decided to go to Rowan University for Art Education after several years of working in sales. She studied Art History and Painting in Italy (SACI) and has been fortunate enough to travel throughout Europe and the Caribbean, visiting museums and galleries everywhere she goes. Kristin also spent three weeks in Australia with the People to People Ambassador program. As AENJ South Vice-President, Kristin enjoys the meetings and workshops that AENJ has to offer. She also photographs the events, presents workshops and maintains the website. When she's not teaching, Kristin spends her time doing portrait commissions through her side business, "Kristin Osgood Art & Design". She also enjoys cycling, rollerblading and spending time with her family and friends. Kristin also loves photography and has placed many of her photographs from around the world on her website. Ms. Osgood is currently pursing her MFA degree at Moore College of Art and Design. Renee Richardson Mrs. Renee Richardson has been teaching at West Deptford High School since 1988. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education K-12 from Rowan University. She recently received her Masters Degree in Teaching from Marygrove College. At West Deptford High School, Renee is responsible for teaching all art classes including Ceramics and Sculpture I & II, Art Major II, Art Major III, Art Major IV and A. P. Studio Art:2D. She is also the Art Club advisor, Dance Club coordinator and the Pride and Awareness of All Cultures club advisor. (P.A.A.C.) She truly believes that staying involved with students is very important inside and outside the classroom. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time traveling with her husband and two children Darryl and Bianca. ![]() Thomas Kershaw, Jr, Mr. Kershaw is a graduate of Delsea Regional High School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rowan University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. He has been blessed to have studied trumpet with Mr. Robert Earley of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Mr. John Thyhsen of the Philly Pops Orchestra. Mr. Kershaw is a professional trumpet player, playing throughout the area in many venues. In 1995, Mr. Kershaw had the privilege to tour and perform as a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford, Illinois playing soprano bugle. Mr. Kershaw is also an accomplished composer and arranger, writing arrangements for many area marching bands and performance ensembles. Mr. Kershaw has written arrangements for over thirty high school bands including WDHS. Bands Mr. Kershaw has written and arranged for have won every type of marching band championship available in the North Eastern United States. He has also had the privilege to write arrangements for other venues including TV commercials and senior drum and bugle corps. Mr. Kershaw has been the director of the West Deptford High School Marching Band since 2002. In 2003, Mr. Kershaw came to West Deptford High School full time where he also became the director of the WDHS Symphonic Band. Mr. Kershaw also directs the WDHS Jazz Lab. Since Mr. Kershaw's arrival, the band took a new direction which brought the marching band through a tremendous renaissance as the band has continuously grown in competitive strength and performance quality. Since 2002, the West Deptford marching band has become a perennial competitive finalist in the Tournament of Bands (TOB) marching band circuit. In 2003, the marching band won the USSBA Group IIA All States Championship. In 2006, the band won the TOB South Jersey, Chapter I Group III Championship for the first time since 1978. The band continued to finish second overall and first in brass at the 2006 TOB Group III Atlantic Coast Championships. In 2007 & 2008, the WDHS band won its second and third consecutive Chapter I Championships and finished 3rd overall and won the special award for best woodwinds in 2007 and best drum major in 2008 at the TOB Group III Atlantic Coast Championships. In 2006, Mr. Kershaw was the West Deptford High School recipient of the New Jersey Governor's Teacher Recognition Award. He was also recognized as an outstanding teacher in Gloucester County. Mr. Kershaw's professional memberships include the Music Educators National Conference, International Trumpet Guild, New Jersey Music Educators Association and the South Jersey Band and Orchestra Directors Association. When he is not working, Mr. Kershaw enjoys spending time with his awesome wife, Kimberly, his darling little girl, Kaitlyn Skye, and his son Ryan Thomas..William Yerkes Bill Yerkes has been teaching vocal music at West Deptford High School since September of 2000. He directs our awesome Concert Choir and Madrigals ensembles. He is also directs our yearly WDHS Musical, with this year's musical being "Brigadoon". After school, Bill directs the A Cappella Society, Chamber Choir and After School Choir. Bill is a graduate of Rowan University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. He is the founder of a Community Choir and Summer Musical Theatre Camp that continues to perform under new direction in Gloucester City. Since 1992, Bill has been very active in the Ritz Theatre of Haddon Township. In addition to performing on stage and in the pit, he music directed their productions of Camelot, Big; The Musical, and The Pajama Game. He also vocal directed Once Upon A Mattress and Annie Get Your Gun. During many summers, Bill directed the music for the Summer Theatre Camp at the Ritz Theatre, and became the administrator for the camp for the last three years of his employment there. Bill is excited to make his stage directorial debut this fall with his production of Titanic. In addition, he will spend this summer directing Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the new Broadway Theatre in Pitman. Bill is also the Worship Pastor at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Turnersville. In February of 2002, he was given the honor of directing the 44th Annual South Jersey Junior High Chorus. When he is not working, Bill enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Tina, and his three children Emily, Madelyn and Andrew. |
